Force vs Accel: Offense is the Best Defense

In a world where protect clans only existed in stories of legend, accel clans and force clans contest for dominion over the salty seas of the tournament scene, so we ask ourselves this following open-ended question: which is the stronger mechanic, accel or force?

Looking at the tournament scene right now, it is safe to say that only the two mechanics are making the cut on the higher rankings worldwide. As of now, we often see names such as Riviere, Uranus, Silver Thorn, Hyu-ga, Gauntlet Buster, Angerblader, and Dailiner making appearances on top 8 lists.

With the upcoming sets, we can expect Gear Chronicle, Narukami, Shadow Paladin, and Aqua Force to be ramped-up as well. The game looks like a slugfest seeing how the meta favors heavy-hitting multi-attackers over more defensive and utility-based clans.

Of course, you can expect those that have access to having high-lanes, multi-attack options, field-control, and hand-power have more advantage over those that haven’t. In Riviere’s case, the access to a consistent on-Grade 3 finisher makes it stand-out even though the majority of our list is accel clan.

If you’re planning to go for a defensive protect clan for competitive play in the near future, that will probably be a bad idea. It is going to be a difficult climb knowing that two sides are always clashing at each other in raging battles.

So right now, if you’re choosing between Force or Accel the answer will always be: – not protect. Take your time to battle and see what mechanic fits you.
