Just when the tournament scene is at its quietest of moments, the calmness breaks with the sound of the overlords’ unstoppable march – and no, we’re not talking about the dragonic one!

Ever since in the debut release of Murakumo in V-Booster Set 02: Strongest! Team AL4 with Dueling Dragon, ZANBAKU as the face of the clan back then, this clan has never been irrelevant from then until today. And so, let’s talk about the longest running Dynasty in V-CFV history.

Perhaps one of the most ridiculous things Bushiroad has ever done to a clan is place each and every mechanic into one clan. Murakumo threatens you in every aspect whether it be on control & attrition, battle, and even during the defensive turn, these masters of the field have all the bases covered.

In the first iteration of Murakumo back in V-BT02, Murakumo shocked every single player (especially Megacolony ones) when it introduced Dueling Dragon, ZANBAKU’s semi-absolute ability to shut-down the Vanguard Circle entirely. This made giving 3 open damage to Murakumo an extremely risky thing to do.

Being an accel clan, this also threatened your defensive capability as you wouldn’t have a twin-drive turn to generate hand cards as well. It was an absolute headache to face but a very satisfying clan to use. Needless to say, it dominated the entirety of the meta tirelessly for weeks.

Just as the newer clans seemed to have a significant power boost to help battle the cruel shogunate. The second support for Murakumo, which is V-Booster Set 04: Vilest Deletor, appeared from behind to reinforce the cornered legion.

Everybody glanced in awe with the release of Fantasy Petal Storm, Shirayuki. Just the mere sight of it was a wonder in itself. Zangeki and Shirayuki gave the clan a significant power boost but also introduced a powerful defensive turn to help the clan survive the raging tide of war.

Just as the Murakumo clan seemed to be at its highest peak, Murakumo didn’t give the meta a chance to take a break with the release of V-BT06: Phantasmal Steed Restoration coming only 5 months after. Headed by the now controversial Samurai Master, HYU-GA, the clan has truly become the master of the land and is one of the few to oppose the blonde mistress of the blue sea.

However, with the February 25 banlist coming soon, will we see the same tragedies of every dynasty in history in this clan? Or will the masters of stealth avoid hitting the banhammer and continue their reign of terror? One thing is certain, history has been written and its name is Murakumo.
