Banlist PTSD: The Hardest Parts of Moving On

Fear, regret, anxiety, sadness these are all very human emotions to have. You might be here because you’re experiencing something that you think is ruining your life, but we assure you – Banlist PTSD is something that you don’t have to go through alone.

It’s true, some forms of PTSD come from a source which are much more extreme than others (wars, accidents, crimes). However, this doesn’t mean that what you’re feeling right now is not a legitimate emotion. People experience even the smallest things in the most extreme ways, and you know what? We understand.

TCG players often spend hundreds, if not, thousands of dollars just to build a complete deck. Being able to stand on top and compete is a dream every person has. However, the price of a strong card with an even stronger price often becomes the target for TCG companies to take initiative on their overlooked mistake.

Here are the steps you might want to take after your cards have been hit by the banlist:

  1. Take a deep breath. Meditate.
  2. Accept the results.
  3. Play the few final weeks before the banlist is applied.
  4. Rebuild your deck’s concept.
  5. Enjoy the game.

Everything will be okay. Right now you’re in a state of vulnerability. But you know what? In a few months after the banlist, you’ll look back at those cards and think to yourself why you were even upset. Sure, the road to moving on is extremely hard, but you’ll get there. So give yourself time and look for the good in everything – yes, even this.
